Pierre & Vacances Resort Fuerteventura Origomare, Lajares
About the Hotel
Pierre & Vacances Resort Fuerteventura Origomare is located in Lajares, on Fuerteventura, the second largest of the Canary Islands. The resort features a 5 m² water park, known as Crater Park, equipped with diverse attractions including a wave pool and numerous slides. The hotel’s layout divides the villas into five separate sections called 'Oasis,' creating distinct areas for relaxation.
Location
Situated in the dry interior of Fuerteventura, the resort is approximately 45 km from the main urban areas. While it offers seclusion, a rental car is recommended to explore the island effectively, as public transport options are limited. The quaint village of Lajares is nearby, featuring small restaurants and shops, while popular beaches like Cotillo are accessible by shuttle service.
Rooms
The villas at the resort offer spacious accommodations that reflect a unique design reminiscent of Nevada show homes. Each unit features modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, and well-equipped kitchens. Some villas also include extra fixtures like washing machines and capsule coffee machines, enhancing the comfort for families or groups.
Eat & Drink
The resort provides a variety of dining choices, including a buffet-style restaurant with a wide range of local and international cuisine. The Chimborazo à-la-carte restaurant offers more adventurous dishes for guests seeking different culinary options. Additionally, snacks and quick meals can be enjoyed at various bars and cafeterias located throughout the complex.
Leisure & Business
Leisure activities include a vast water park with multi-sports courts, tennis and paddle tennis facilities, and an 18-hole mini-golf course. Free children's clubs cater to ages 4 to 15, ensuring engaging activities for younger guests. Adults can enjoy a tranquil area around the adult-only pool, facilitating a balanced environment for families and couples.

Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel was like being in a high-spec Marriott Vacation Club property rather than the usual Pierre & Vacances village. The rooms were large, well-equipped, and felt just like home. However, there were some service issues that could be improved, such as issues with bag pick-up and misplaced items by staff. The location was great, especially for families with kids, but could use better phone service. The dining experience had its ups and downs, with fantastic choices but some disappointing aspects. Overall, a mixed but enjoyable experience.
The hotel offers a charming outdoor dining area surrounded by rock and mirrors, accommodating up to 4 guests in a large bedroom/lounge with 2 single beds and a sofa bed. While the sleeping comfort might not be optimal, all basic amenities are covered. The location, although remote, provides a peaceful retreat but may require a car for convenient access to nearby attractions. The dining options are varied, with some minor issues regarding flies around cold foods. Overall, a nice stay with a few drawbacks to consider.
The hotel offers high-quality rooms with spacious ensuite 'spa-like' shower rooms, although housekeeping service could be more consistent. The service, under a seeming lack of leadership, is commendable overall, with some helpful amenities available. The location, surrounded by well-maintained plants but requiring a car rental, is ideal for a tranquil stay. The dining experience provides a variety of tasty options, though not consistently maintained. The facilities are modern and well-equipped.
